Pelvic floor muscles play a large role in core control and everyday function. The pelvic floor is composed of three layers of muscle tissue forming at the bottom of your pelvic bowl (your pubic bone to tailbone and your sit bones). Your pelvic floor acts to stabilize your hips and pelvis and control intra-abdominal pressure for core stabilization and to control urine flow, sexual function, and so much more. Dysfunction is incredibly individual and can be present due to a less active pelvic floor secondary to childbirth or trauma, or a tight or overactive pelvic floor. Symptoms may include urinary leakage, pain with sex, or descending of pelvic organs. Pelvic floor treatment is extremely individualized and may include internal pelvic floor muscle release, postural realignment, education on optimal breathing mechanics, and lifestyle modifications.

Return to Run Readiness Assessment

Our postpartum return-to-run assessment is designed to determine your readiness to safely and confidently transition back to higher-impact activity after childbirth. This comprehensive evaluation focuses on rebuilding strength, restoring pelvic floor and core function, and minimizing your risk of injury.
During your session, we assess:
• Abdominal healing, including diastasis recti
• Pelvic floor function (with an optional internal exam, if needed)
• Full-body strength and movement patterns (squatting, lunging, single-leg control, and more)
• Impact readiness through return-to-run plyometric testing
• Running mechanics, if you’re ready to begin
This service is ideal for individuals who have been cleared by their OBGYN at their 6–8 week postpartum visit and are looking for a guided, individualized return to running.
Babies are always welcome. We aim to provide a supportive, flexible environment so you can focus on your recovery while navigating early parenthood.
